Video Production with Accessible Content
Making videos accessible helps those with disabilities have a comparable experience with your content as someone without a disability. Making accessible videos not only helps those with disabilities but can also benefit others who want to engage with your videos in different ways.
The benefits of creating accessible content:
- Being more inclusive
- Reaching a wider audience
- Making your content more usable
The Sightline team have extensive experience in offering a variety of Accessible content solutions.
British Sign Language (BSL)
We can add sign language to videos we create or to existing videos you send us.
We have added sign language to hundreds of videos, for customers such as the UK Civil Service, NHS, Arts Council England, local councils, utility companies, other video producers, and specialist agencies.
Closed-captions
We add Closed Captions (commonly known as subtitles) for the benefit of people with hearing difficulties, or when a video is going to be played in noisy environments or without the sound turned on.
There are two options for showing Closed Captions in a video:
(1) We ‘burn’ the Closed Captions permanently onto the video.
(2) When we/you upload the video onto a channel such as YouTube or Vimeo, we/you upload a separate Closed Captions file into the channel’s [CC] closed captions function, so that viewers can then choose to turn the Closed Captions on or off.
Multilingual Subtitles & Dubbing
We have dubbed or added voice-overs or subtitles to videos in European and eastern languages.
We use specialist agencies to translate the dialogue and voice-over, and/or the transcript for the subtitles.
We use professional mother-tongue voice actors to record the voice-overs.
