We created this cinema commercial for Kingston Borough Council’s Road Safety and Speed Awareness campaign. The campaign was aimed at young people and was shown in cinemas around the area.
We developed the storyboard in close consultation with Kingston’s student council. They had particular messages they wanted to put across. The boy and girl in the commercial were both played by student volunteers, and the driver was played by a student from Guildford School of Acting. Filming took place overnight in one of Kingston’s accident black spots and the surrounding streets.
The commercial, which was also shown on social media channels, received a hugely positive response – creating awareness and understanding and helping Kingston Borough Council significantly reduce accidents in the area.
