L&Q and Business in the Community
L&Q is one of the UK’s leading social housing associations. It owns or manages over 90,000 homes in London and the South East.
L&Q has been working with the Prince’s Trust through its Business In The Community programme, to help young people in south London build successful working lives. This video explains how L&Q sponsors partnerships between businesses and local schools in the Lewisham area, to provide students with mentoring, work experience, and job opportunities.
The video shows four different businesses, including leading auditors KPMG, working with their school partners to help students of varying abilities, and it shows how the students are responding positively.
Over a 6-month period, we filmed mentoring events and workshops and interviewed people from the businesses, as well as teachers and students, and the project leaders at L&Q.
L&Q are continuing the programme and a new video is being planned.
